This course will assist the team to work within industry guidelines including HTM01-05, the Health and Social Care Act and NICE(CG139) and includes a practical element to engage the whole team.

Review the importance of Hand Hygiene

Understand what an infection is and the routes of transmission

How to identify healthcare acquired infections

Review the Implementation of Standard Precautions

Review cleaning of equipment and the environment

Review instrument transportation, decontamination, sterilisation and storage

Understand use of equipment including, maintenance, testing and validation
